The operations that are allowed to be performed with cryptocurrencies are:
ЦDigital currency (cryptocurrency) is regulated by Federal Law No:
259-FZ of 31.07.2020 "On Digital Financial Assets, Digital Currency, and Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.
Article 1 of this Federal Law regulates that we can understand digital currency (cryptocurrency) as a set of electronic data (digital code or designation) contained in an information system, which are offered and/or can be accepted as a means of payment, not being a monetary unit of the Russian Federation, a monetary unit of a foreign state and/or an international monetary or settlement unit, and/or as an investment and which does not have an entity obligated to each holder of such electronic data, except for the operator and/or nodes of the information system, obligated only to ensure compliance with the procedure for issuing such electronic data and taking actions to enter (change) records in such information system in accordance with its rules.
The specific types of operations and features of the circulation of digital currency are regulated by Article 14 of Law No. 259-FZ..
The rules for conducting operations with digital currency (cryptocurrency) are fixed in it:
1. t is allowed to acquire digital currency (cryptocurrency) without restrictions, but it is not allowed to sell property for digital currency (cryptocurrency) (accept it as payment). This prohibition applies to all Russian, foreign, international companies, as well as to those individuals who have been in Russia for more than 6 months within 1 year (residents).
2. The dissemination of information regarding the offering and/or acceptance of digital currency as a reciprocal provision for the goods, services, or work performed by them is prohibited.
3. You must inform the tax authorities of the facts of owning digital currency and carrying out civil legal transactions and/or operations with digital currency in the manner established by the legislation of the Russian Federation on taxes and fees.
